Let us review your programs and conduct a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis. We can use this method for identifying and analyzing internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats that shape current and future operations of your company and help you to develop strategic goals
Process Safety Management is one of the most important keys to your companies success. Once a safety and health program is established, it should be evaluated initially to verify that it is being implemented as intended. After that, employers should periodically, and at least annually, step back and assess what is working and what is not, and whether the program is on track to achieve its goals. We will be glad to look over and review your company handbook, company policies, and procedures.
A good safety and health program depends on the active participation and interest of everyone at the mine site. If you and your fellow miners know your rights and responsibilities, workplace deaths, injuries, and illnesses can be prevented. However as a Miner Representative, you play an important role in helping to ensure healthy and safe working conditions and practices at your mine. Your knowledge of the work site can provide MSHA’s inspectors with a great deal of useful information. Let us help you be prepared before an inspection.
Are your employees prepared for an emergency and do they know your EAP's?
An emergency action plan (EAP) is a written document required by particular OSHA standards. [29 CFR 1910.38(a)] The purpose of an EAP is to facilitate and organize employer and employee actions during workplace emergencies. Well developed emergency plans and proper employee training (such that employees understand their roles and responsibilities within the plan) will result in fewer and less severe employee injuries and less structural damage to the facility during emergencies. A poorly prepared plan, likely will lead to a disorganized evacuation or emergency response, resulting in confusion, injury, and property damage.
Let us help you and your employees be prepared before disaster strikes.
Accidents can happen unexpectedly, and when they do, it is crucial to gather accurate and comprehensive information about the incident. Documenting the accident scene plays a vital role in understanding what happened, how it happened, and why it happened. Knowing how to properly secure the scene to prevent further accidents or injury is important. Conducting a proper investigation will allow your safety team and supervisory personnel to manage the claim properly. Being able to conduct a thorough After Action Review (AAR) is beneficial in helping to prevent reoccurrence.
Alabama's Workers' Compensation Law provides significant and valuable benefit to both employer and employee. The employee is guaranteed a "benefit certain" in the event of an on-the-job injury or occupational disease. The employer pays for this insurance. The employer is protected by the "exclusive remedy" provisions of the Law. This means that an injured worker is entitled only to the benefits required by law, thus the employer's liability is limited. Does your written program provide the right coverages to protect you and your employees? We will be happy to look over your policy.
